The Devil Made Me Do IT!!!

We have all heard the old saying, “The devil made me do it.” BUT really don’t we all say that to be funny??? I challenge you that this saying is not incorrect!

So we were out today at lunchtime and the little crumbsnatchers in the back of the van were super hungry. I decided that a nice turkey sandwich from Boston Market was much better than a burger and fries. YES??? RIGHT??? We gave them our order and then waited and waited in the drive thru line. FINALLY……….the nice young messenger of the devil, er, uh, young man handed us the bags of food. Then so proudly announces……..” Sorry about the long wait! I gave you a free dessert!!” I peer down into the bags of food to find a HUGE, I am talking, 4 inch by 3 inch piece of chocolate brownie. CHOCOLATE!!!! What do I do, FREE CHOCOLATE!!!

I was good though! I hauled the MASSIVE brownie home. Stuck it on a plate and cut it into 5 slices and handed it to my little darlings. I didn’t even eat a crumb!! I think I may have drooled though.

That darn sneaky devil!!

Proverbs 25:28 He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down and without walls.

The JIG is up!!! I am FAT!!!

Well, it’s out…… I AM FAT!! OOOOHHHH Hooooooo! I can see you squirming in your chair as you read this!! Wondering….Did she REALLY say that?? YUP!! I did! I weigh (ok be prepared to gasp!) 250 lbs. HOLY COW you say!!

Hey did you just call me a cow???

Today we were at a soccer game. My sweet middle daughter was doing her best attempt at a cartwheel. She looked up at the family friend next to Raymond and said, “My mom can’t do a cartwheel because she is fat.” And then proceeded on ,”She is really, really fat with a great big tummy.”

So this story is my inspiration……….. I wonder how many things my kids assume I cannot do because I am fat? I wonder how many things I actually AM unable to do because of my weight.

Here is the beginning of my journey to being thin. Not superstar anorexic skinny. Just in the correct weight for my body.

Please be a part of my journey. Be my support and to be willing to yell from across the room. “JODI Put the cookie down AND step away from the table!!!”

I Corinthians 10:31 Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.
